Rodeo has its roots among the working vaqueros of early Spain and Mexico. It was this world that influenced the American Cowboy. His everyday ranch chores, that of calf roping, team roping, and bronc riding evolved into the very same events you see at the rodeo. It was the invention of, yup, the barbed wire fence, along with railroad expansion that brought about the end to those chores. To supplement their dwindling income, cowboys participated in "The Wild West Show", the first American rodeo.
Who can forget our favorite singing cowboy, and not want to "Get back in the Saddle Again"!
Even if we can't or wouldn't think of living that life, we can still get a touch of the romance at the rodeo.
